and Over 1,000 FREE Writer & Poet Resources.
Hello and Welcome.Truly, it is an honor to have you here. It is why I write, for you and me.I am Nancy Lee Destiny. My Passion is writing and I love
to share my writing with everyone around the globe. My goal is to inspire people while providing
wisdom through my experiences. I will build my legacy with emotions...one page at a time~
I write poetry, but that's not all I write. I've written newspaper columns, e-zine columns, magazine articles, technical writing, chapbooks, e-books, short stories, and I have a few novels in progress.
I have a few excerpts on here for you to glance at.
My father wrote poetry & short stories.
~My Father's Poetry~
Father & Mother in 1954.
Aparently, it runs in the family, as my son Benjamin also is a poet and an intense writer. Woah, who knew right lol.
~My Son's Poetry~
Bo, in 1995...my favorite photo of my baby Bo~
My Son, Willie is a writer also, he loves journaling, and his privacy with his writing. He is very good at what he does. Hugs & Kisses from Mom. I love you both immensely.
Willie, in 1983...my favorite photo of my baby Willie~
It's all very exciting to me to be able to do what I love. How great is that, plus my readers get to benefit from it, enjoy it, love it as much as I do.
Writing has always felt natural to me, like I was born to do it. God gave me "the gift of tears" that allows me to feel every emotion of life deep within me.
After writing for years with "the gift of the pen" from God,
now I am 45 yrs old and working towards my college masters degree,in Journalism. I even made the deans list every semester.
I have always loved to learn about anything. I liked English & Science growing up, and recess on the monkey bars lol. Funny but true.
I am an American Muslim, my Shahada
was April 2003, after being raised a Lutheran all my life in America. I love America, it was a decision I
made for several reasons, mainly because I "felt & feel" Islam is for me. My Muslim name is: Nama~it means good gift from God in Arabic.
Purple is my favorite color,
then pink. I love the stars in the sky at night. I gaze at them and wish I was one. I find it very peaceful, star gazing.
I adore nature and animals. The Sea is very special for me. Swimming is a favorite thing to do for me or just walking along the beach, getting my feet wet.
International foods and cultures, along with learning languages are of interest to me as well.
I love rocks, minerals, gemstones and colour.
But nothing beats Romance, Passion and Love~receiving it and giving it.
I close my eyes every night with desire to wake up to a new sunrise filled with shine, colourful hues, with promise, with passion, a new
day to fill my desires and wishes.
I tell everyone dare to live life, not to simply exist in it ! Life is filled with kisses of laughter, echoes of sorrow,
hidden passions, and lots of love. My glass is most always half full, is yours? Why not? You get to choose, it's your choice.
Turn your echoes of sorrow into...the gift of tears. Make laughter your memory, stop hiding your passions and thrust them in front of you so you have
to climb over them. Then if you don't do them, then you are a failure before you try. Why would you do that? It makes no sense.
Ask yourself...What are the benefits from
not trying? What are the benefits of trying?
Sure even I have times when I just feel so defeated and battered by life's trials and tragedies. Sometimes it makes me want to go to sleep on Monday and wake up on Thursday.
There have been more than a few times in my life where I just couldn't get out of the whole I sank into for love nor money...but I did not give up.
I believe every single person can make a difference.
What we do does not define who we are... what defines us is how well we rise, after falling.
My point is that I kept on trying, even if I have to rely on the advice of someone else. Most times I follow my own advice, because it simply works for me.
Eventually I most always come out of it as a better person, even in the worst situations.
Believe me, I have had more than my share.
That is when I usually turn to God and my writing yet again to renew my spirit. I believe I have a guardian angel, Gabriel. We talk often. I have to get it out of my system so I can move forward. I never forget it and that is how it should be. It is the lessons we learn from our experiences, so
that we do not repeat them time & time again. You to will be wise to remember this advice.
It will help you along the way in your journey of life.
Poetry...Feel The Passion. Poetry awakens the Passion in all of us.
I am a very passionate woman.
I came up with the idea to make my own website here to share. If I can help people, not just women, men and children too, then it is all worth it. Helping people to know they are not alone, or not the only one who is going through some of the same things others
have gone through.
If I can lend my perspective to others so they too can stop, step back and look at the bigger picture, then my words are not
taking up space, my words will have impact.
Readers have followed my career and told me what a difference I make in their life through my words. I am thankful to God for my gift,
so that I am able to make a difference. To Him and my readers I say thank you. I am here to make a difference because I love people and life.
Over the years my readers have contacted me about my writing. Here's what some of them have said to me:
I am always glad to hear from my readers. I've heard things like...
"Your poem helped me so much, because I am going through the same thing now."
" I read your poem to my girlfriend, she cried and told me she loves me."
"After reading your poem, I felt so grateful for being alive, it really helped me to understand things better, thank you Nancy."
"My friend and me were talking about your newspaper column at work. We agreed with what you said.
"Do you really think that? I read your column. Your so naive."
"I've read your story, it's so romantic, I can't wait to read more.""Are people really like that in real life?"
"You can feel the passion in all your poems. It is really inspiring to me."
"You do such a good job. I love reading your work."
To all of you I say thank you, it is what keeps me writing, that wonderful feeling of helping someone besides myself. Writing has always been my
ying & yang, zen, comfort zone. I have a special place in my home to write, it is my sanctuary.
I have been writing since junior high school, being published well over 70 times, (I stopped counting after that)
since beginning my professional writing career in 1994.
I've been published in various publications, this that and the other, since August 1994,and a newspaper columnist for
the Altoona Mirror from 1997-2001, including having 5 Books published, 1 Chapbook, 4 E-Books, with another due out shortly.
